Each Sunday during worship, we pray, by name, for those who are sick. We also send letters to tell people that we have prayed for them.
Every month, 10% of the money contributed to Holy Trinity goes to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) to carry out the God’s work throughout the world.
Each month volunteers from Holy Trinity provide, prepare and serve a noon meal at the Salvation Army.
Four times a year, volunteers from Holy Trinity provide, prepare and serve a Saturday noon meal at Trinity Episcopal Church in Niles. This free hot meal is offered on the weekend, when there is no other place for those in need.
Each week we collect a noisy offering. At the end of each quarter this money is sent to a designated organization that serves others. Recently, offerings have been sent to Salvation Army, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Lutheran World Hunger, Heifer International, and others.
Each winter we collect bottles of hand lotion. These are distributed by Meals on Wheels drivers to bring comfort to senior citizens.
We are the only church in Niles to have a community garden on our property. Each year, the garden produces thousands of pounds of produce, much of which is donated to local food pantries.
During the holiday season, folks at Holy Trinity select specific children from a list of foster children provided by Department of Human Services (DHS). Holy Trinity people buy and wrap the gifts and volunteers deliver them to DHS for distribution to the kids.
We collect non-perishable food and deliver it to the Salvation Army on an ongoing basis.
Members bring children’s mittens and hats. These are given to local schools for kids who need them.
